OUR COUPLES

V&A - rose gold - urns - green - foliage

Every now and again, we meet a couple that wants something a little something for their wedding.  T & J were just such a couple, and we fell in love with the design of their day.

T & J wanted beautiful drama and impact on their day.  Steering away from pastel tones and whites, they moved to deep purples and lilacs to create a variety and style that complemented their venue.  They had a clear vision for their day which, with the help with their wonderful planners, SW Events, it was a true collaboration to help bring their ideas to life.

Guests entered this incredible venue to a lantern-lined pathway with tall urns filled with seasonal foliage of English eucalyptus, weigela, laurel and berried ivy.  We placed the arrangements on plinths and urns of glistening rose gold; a colour that would run as a theme throughout the rest of the design.

Between the drinks reception and the wedding breakfast, guests moved through the shop to reach The Dome.  T & J wanted this area to feel as immersive and magical as the rest of the venue, so we filled it with as many lanterns and candles, and we could muster.  Using over 60 lanterns and nearly 200 tea-lights to create a flickering, candlelit path.

For the tables at the wedding breakfast, we used a combination of three designs to bring height, texture and wonder to the venue.  We used tall manzanita trees in mirrored vases, dressed with lilac hydrangea, spray roses, lisianthus, ocean song roses and finished with additional branches of rose gold willow and rose gold asparagus fern.  These great pieces caught the light most amazingly and had the most fantastic effect when guests walked into the room.

We also used low geometric structures which we have had hand-made by a blacksmith, also in rose gold, which were filled with purple flowers such as clematis and lilac and created a soft and natural arrangement within the contemporary confines of the structure.

For the third design, we used more traditional lanterns which repeated that gorgeous candlelight and surrounded them with antique style bud vases which we were surrounded by purple flowers such as anemones and scabious.

The blend of these three styles worked together so seamlessly to make a wedding so personal for this beautiful couple and certainly one that we will remember always.
